Lineage: Audio - AUD (bootlegMIC + Samsung Galaxy S5)
Rating: 2.5 out of 5
Notes: Mono recording. Taper's notes, " Taped dead center, in the pit halfway between the stage and board. Not wanting to bring my old MD rig down for this run of shows, I decided to see if there was a phone based solution, leading me to building a couple of microphones myself (http://www.openmusiclabs.com/projects/bootlegmic/index.html). Recordings have some flaws but over the course of three nights I felt like I learned a lot, and came away with something better than I would have with my old rig. The mic I used for the 13th didn't capture the high end as well as I had hoped. During MOTP the pit got a bit unruly, knocking the mic loose, and the phone reverting back to the internal mic. Great A/B comparison point..."
