Source: 1
Length: 90 minutes
Complete: Yes
Taper: FUZZMONSTER
Lineage: Audio - AUD (Sonic Studios DSM-3 + Sony TCD-D3 LP Mode)
Rating: 5 out of 5
Notes: I had a cassette sourced copy of this recording and the master DAT transfer blows the original copy on the archive out of the water. More full and not as flat or lack of low end! A flawless recording and one of the best sounding recordings of Ruiner from this tour!

Lineage: Audio - AUD (Silver - "Nails In My Head")
Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Notes: After cross-referencing every single NIN recording from 1994, it has finally been established that this recording is NOT from 12/31/1994 Detroit and is the 09/05/1994 St. Paul date. You can listen to "March of the Pigs" and hear the same 8 screams from Trent, same pauses etc. Other songs line up from the recording as well with their small differences with guitar strums and keys. So at this point, there is no New Years Eve recording. Still need to find one. This is a different recording than source 1. Sounds better. I assume this was pressed to silver CD, much of the songs were removed on the CD to fit to 1 CD and the date faked to sell some copies. The source 2 recording circulated as the December 31, 1994 show at The Palace of Auburn Hills, MI. Unfortunately there is no proof. Supposedly at the show (Detroit 12/31), there was a countdown to the New Year followed by a NIN, Pop Will Eat Itself, and the Jime Rose Circus coming together on stage to sing Auld Lang Syne, Finck did a harmonica solo, then NIN began their encore set. Which obviously is not included in this recording.

Lineage: Video - AUD, Unknown Video Recording
Rating: 3 out of 5
Notes: This is an unknown audience video recording that is an unknown generation and transfer. Recorded from the right rear of the concert hall with some good stage views and decent close ups. Audio is average as well, but there are other audio sources from the night that are way better. A very good performance from the Downward Spiral Tour and probably my favorite version of "March of the Pigs" from 1994.
